Negan Fan Art

I was browsing through Reddit when I came across this awesome piece of Negan fan art. I think it has a really interesting art style to it. After reading through the comments, I found out the style it's done in is apparently called scribble drawing. It works really well, especially with the character of Negan!

This was drawn up right after the Season 7 premiere.

Be Peaceful - A Tribute Video for Glenn

Glenn looking flustered in The Walking Dead
RIP Glenn, you sure will be missed.
I've seen a lot of tribute videos shared online ever since the season 7 premiere aired when we lost Abraham and Glenn. However, the video I've shared below which comes from YouTube user 'aKolkaa' is the best one yet. It focusses on Glenn, highlighting his most pivotal moments in the series right up to his brutal meeting with the vampire bat, Lucille.

If you're still hurting from his loss, then you may need a box of tissues at the ready whilst watching.

The video is beautifully titled "Be Peaceful".

Could there be more meaning to TWDs S7E1 'The Day Will Come When You Won’t Be'

Let's focus on something a little bit more than the deaths.  Forgive me Steven Yeun, and Michael Cudlitz!  I can’t begin to explain how much you have brought to TWD for all of the fans, but everyone’s already doing that now.  Including fan created obits.  I know that for months, this was a huge focal point as everyone waited in anticipation of the fate that awaited 2 of our TWD cast.  Could there be more?

"The Day Will Come When You Won’t Be"
We should all remember those words that were said to Rick Grimes by Dr. Edwin Jenner at the end of episode TS-19.

Dr Jenner and Rick Grimes in the CDC back in Season One.

Season 7 premiere episode certainly lived up to its name.  However, could this be the first part of the foreshadowing of what’s to come for season 7?  Andrew Lincoln has already said that this will be the most difficult season for Rick Grimes.  In the past, the hardest thing for him has been losing the people that he has made family.  The list of people left is quickly dwindling, and I can’t help feel that Maggie’s fate is in question.

Glenn said, “Maggie, I’ll find you.”  Could this also mean, I’ll be waiting for you on the other side?  It’s hard to know.  I know that there is definitely a correlation to a past episode between Glenn and Maggie.  But, could it mean more?  Especially after the leaked alternate death scene for the TWD season 7 premiere makes me a little hesitant in believing anyone is safe.  Especially when it seems like TWD writers are taking a page from George R. R. Martin’s handbook.

In an interview with Steven Yeun, and Michael Cudlitz, they did say that they’ve known for a while that their time in TWD was coming to an end.   That one of the hardest things to do was to keep it all a secret.  Both the actors and AMC went to extraordinary lengths to keep Negan’s victims a secret.  Everything from being on filming sites where they weren’t needed, keeping it from other actors, going in places with cloaks on, and even to go as far as, filming alternate scenes that weren’t going to be used.  Does that mean that the ‘leaked’ alternate ending, is it really an alternate ending (because this could be Maggie’s last season), or was it staged to keep everyone’s suspicions on the fence for the première episode?

In recent interviews with Greg Nicotero, he says that "Glenn is not dead; Abraham is not dead," Nicotero said. "Their spirit lives on and the fact that you have Maggie pregnant with his baby, and you have Sasha and Rosita carrying the memory of Abraham. There's more story to tell with the result of what happened with those people, so I certainly look at it a little differently."

Does that mean that Maggie, Sasha, and Rosita are as ‘safe’ in the TWD world as they possibly can be?  If TWD writers are taking a page from George R.R. Martin, one of the hardest things to swallow will be another Red Wedding, Talisa, unborn child.  I’m not saying Maggie is TWDs princess, but…  the similarities are hard to ignore.

Let's touch on the shared Sunday dinner meal.  Did you catch the 4 candles on the table, and Morgan putting out two of them?  Should we be expecting at least 2 more of our beloved characters to meet brutal ends this season?  It's really hard not to point towards Maggie and the unborn baby.

So many questions, foreshadows, theories that are now being created.  Only time will tell the fate of our beloved cast members.

Alternate Death Scene from Season 7 Premiere

The Walking Dead Season 7 Alternate Death Scene
An alternate death scene was filmed for Maggie
A video has leaked online showing an alternate death scene for The Walking Dead Season 7 Premiere.

In the below video, we see Negan kills Maggie. Maggie, unlike Abe ("Suck my nuts!"), doesn't have anything to say - she simply spits blood at Negan as a final F**k you before getting her skull completely bashed in.
Do you think killing off a sick pregnant woman would be going too far, or would you have been happier to see Maggie go instead of who we actually lost?

It will be interesting to see if any of these alternate videos make it to the special features on the DVD/Blu-Ray when released. I sure hope they do!

If you liked this, make sure to check out the uncensored version of Negan swearing from the Season 6 Finale. Thankfully, this will appear on the Blu-Ray when available.

Season 7 Premiere SMASHES Ratings Once Again!

Rick can't quite believe the ratings!

Well, that wasn't really much of a shock now was it? The Season 7 Premiere absolutely destroyed TV ratings - almost as much as Negan destroyed poor Glenn's face.

What.

Too soon?

The Season 7 Premiere "The Day Will Come When You Won't Be" managed to deliver 17 million viewers with a phenomenal rating of 8.4 amongst adults aged 18-49. To put things into perspective, that's a higher rating than Sunday Night Football, not to mention any other series currently on the air.

The Walking Dead's all-time highest ratings happen to have been the season 5 Premiere - 17.3 million people tuned in to see how Rick and co. would escape from that box car back in Terminus.

Also, it turns out that the 90 minute special of Talking Dead which aired after the Premiere was the most-watched post-show ever with 7.6 million viewers. That's not much of a surprise, though, I mean the whole cast was pretty much there, not to mention Scott Gimple and Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman himself!

Lucille Strikes Again: A Fan Review of Season 7 Premiere

Negan and Lucille in the Season 7 Premiere

Warning! Spoilers ahead!

It seemed like the premiere was going to start off really well and reveal who Negan killed, but instead, it dragged it out. As if we needed to wait longer! I thought they ended season six on a cliffhanger so that when the show came back it would immediately show who died. So after the first set of commercials, I thought “Okay now maybe we’ll get to the action.” I was wrong as we had to see Negan play with Rick as if he were food. It was actually disconcerting that Rick thought he could still be a hard ass and stand up to Negan instead of shutting up and keeping his friends and family safe.

We then get a flashback and they reveal it was Abraham that was victim to Negan’s bat Lucille. Though Abraham took it like a champ, it still didn’t have quite the reaction I thought it would. I did think the writers were smart in showing Rosita upset, rather than showing more of Sasha because we didn’t see that much of her and Abraham together. Rosita knew Abraham before the rest of the cast so it makes sense she would take it harder.

Of course, I expected Daryl to be idiotic and go after Negan. That was ridiculous because Negan told them to stay in line and not fight him or he would retaliate. What didn’t they understand by that? He literally beat the brains out of their friend!

Once that happened I knew it meant bad news for the group, and as I anticipated Negan decided Lucille was hungry for more and swung at Glenn. Now for those of us who read the comic books, that’s no surprise. Regardless, the Walking Dead doesn’t always follow the comics so no one was sure who was on the chopping block…literally! Glenn’s death was way more gruesome than Abraham’s, and they actually followed true to the comics with that one.

The fact that Negan is capable of such an act, makes me wonder what happened to him to bring him to this point. Sure we got to see the group engage with cannibals and murderers, but this…this is different. Negan kills to make a point. He clearly can’t fend for himself if he has to steal the resources of other groups. Why couldn’t he do what Rick and Alexandria did? Obviously, the character has gone to a dark place, and watching him kill Abraham and Glenn makes me wish he gets what he deserves.

If Rick wasn’t so cocky and didn’t let his pride get in the way, Abraham and Glenn would still be alive. Now I know that it’s all part of the plot, but it makes Rick less likeable. I did like that Negan shows he’s in charge. He continues to prove his stance as a leader well after he kills Glenn. When he speaks it’s like listening to your parents say “Get over here now. Don’t make me tell you again!”

Despite some minor pet peeves with Rick’s decision making, it was a pretty spectacular episode. I’m pretty bummed they chose two amazing and dynamic characters to kill off, but it was bound to happen sooner or later.

Rick Grimes Screaming on ‘The Walking Dead’

A compilation video showcasing Rick Grimes and all of his screams in The Walking Dead. Just something on the lighter side to warm us up for the arrival of Negan and Lucille.

Thursday 20 October 2016

Damn... I know who meets Lucille

Who will Negan obliterate?
Unfortunately, I've just managed to stumble across spoilers for the Season 7 Premiere of The Walking Dead. I figured this was going to happen, and to be honest, it's not all that much of a spoiler to me because it kind of confirms what my thoughts were in the first place. But still, I'm kinda' gutted. After all, we're now only 3 days away from officially finding out who meets Lucille. Sadly that surprise has now been completely ruined for me.

It's true what they say. Ignorance is bliss.

I'm not going to mention details of the spoilers here. TalkingWalkingDead.com has never been about that ( these guys have you covered there! ) so please don't freak out and start unfollowing us in case you think we might post something that will ravage your 'Walking Dead' experience.

Just make sure to be careful regarding spoilers if you're the type of person who has a particular hatred towards them. They sure are rife at the moment.

Season 7 Trailer "A Look Ahead"

Check out this special trailer which gives us a look ahead at Season 7 of The Walking Dead. Scott Gimple, Greg Nicotero and Gale Ann Hurd all share their own thoughts whilst giving us just enough juicy details to wet our appetite.

The Walking Dead Renewed for Season 8

Confirmation today that The Walking Dead has been renewed for an eighth season - this news comes exactly a week before the Season 7 premiere.

The Walking Dead has been renewed for season 8
Looks like we're going to be seeing a lot more of Negan
"Eeny, meeny, miny, more," AMC president Charlie Collier said in a statement, subtly referencing Negan from Season 6 finale. "What a joy to partner with Robert Kirkman, Scott Gimple, and some of the hardest-working people in television to bring The Walking Dead to the fans. And, most important, thanks to those fans for breathing life into this remarkable series right along with us."

Was this really much of a shock to anyone? I mean this is a TV show which manages to rival the viewing numbers that the super bowl pulls in - and even at times beating them, and beating them well!

There really is no end in sight for The Walking Dead. Realistically, this show could continue on for as long as the comics.

Only One Week to Go...

Good news fans - There's only one week to go until The Walking Dead is back on our screens.

Whisperers Confirmed?

The official AMC Instagram page teased us with yet another image this week, this time hinting towards the possible arrival of a new group of villians.

As if Rick and co. don't already have enough on their plates it now looks like a group calling themselves The Whisperers could be making an appearance.

Comic book readers will already be familiar with them. They disguise themselves as the dead, wearing the skin of walkers and believe they should go unharmed when walking amongst them.

Here is the image that was teased...

The Walking Dead Season 7 Whisperers
Could this mean the arrival of The Whisperers in Season 7?
This image shows someone's head impaled on a pike - something that The Whisperers are known for doing in the comics. In fact, they end up doing this to quite a few beloved comic book characters - who knows if the same thing will happen in the TV series.

Personally I believe that if these guys do show up their not going to pose an immediate threat to our group, I just can't see that happening especially with all the screen time Negan and The Saviors are going to occupy. If anything I think they may threaten king Ezekiel and The Kingdom at first - but that's purely speculation on my part.

This is what The Whisperers look like in The Walking Dead comics
Whisperers in The Walking Dead comic
Let us know if you are excited for the arrival of this group of villians. I can't wait to see what Greg Nicotero and his team think up for the make-up when these guys are on screen. It's going to be gruesome.

Season 6 Finale - Negan Uncensored

Here is the Season 6 finale "Last Day on Earth" completely uncensored. Negan drops the F bomb more times than I can count and it is awesome!

Which version do you prefer? TV friendly, or uncensored?

On a side note, do you not think it's a bit ridiculous that they can show walkers being completely disembowelled along with Rick ripping out throats - but dare they say a naughty word on TV, that would just be taking it a little bit too far right?

I laugh at these TV network censoring rules...

Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Negan) on Swearing

Norman Reedus Drops Season 7 Hints

Steven Oggs' Character Confirmed as Simon

Not only did we learn that the fate of not just one, but two beloved characters are potentially at steak from the Season 7 Sneak Peek - we also got to find out that Steven Oggs' character does in fact have a name, and that is Simon.

Steven Ogg rose to fame thanks to his voice acting in GTA IV for the role of Trevor.

Hearing him talk about Rick having "A hatchet" in the sneak peek, only to correct himself when Negan seemed confused... "Uhhh... he had an axe" could just as easily have been pulled from Grand Theft Auto V itself. He really is the perfect guy for the role - his voice has that chilling, psychopathic tone. (That could just be me that feels that way due to being an avid Trevor fan.)

Steven Ogg plays the character Simon - Negan's right hand man.

Negan mentions to Rick that having a right hand man is important. Some fans have taken this to mean that it is in fact Daryl who faces Lucille, others think it's a subtle nod to the comic meaning Rick is going to lose his right hand - could Negan be about to chop it off in the RV with Ricks' very own axe?

The Day Will Come When You Won't Be

The title and synopsis for the season 7 premiere has been revealed.

Title: The Day Will Come When You Won't Be
Synopsis: Last season ended with Rick and our group kneeling helplessly before Negan and his group. What Negan does will haunt those who survive forever.

Rick: "I'm going to kill you."

Well done to all the fans who clocked on to the fact that this episode title is a throwback to what Jenner said to Rick back at the CDC in Season One. I'm predicting the premiere will open up like this:

Season 7 Sneak Peek

Can I just take a moment to point out how bloody amazing Andrew Lincolns' acting is here? I mean he is always superb, but this scene alone is a game changer.

Also... it's interesting to note Negan mentions at the end of the scene "The ones that are left" - This indicates to me that he has killed more than just one member of our group. All the talk of 'right hand man' would imply Daryl - even  more so when you see his scarf on the ground at the end of the scene - but I personally think it's Glenn and Abraham who face Lucille.

F you Negan! F you...

Only 8 days to go...

That's right...

There's now only 8 days to go until The Walking Dead returns to our screens.

We will all finally get to witness just who it was getting lucilled by Negan at the end of Season 6.

Who do you think will face Lucille? Leave a prediction below.
